Staff at DRB have been having a spring clean at home this April as part of Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices ‘Donate, don’t dump’ campaign.
Rebecca Morgan, DRB’s Head of Marketing and in-house Hope House champion encouraged all the employees to take home a collection bag or two to fill with unwanted goods. She said: “Many of us have kids so it was a good excuse to pass on some of the clothes and toys they’ve grown out of. We set ourselves a month to collect as many items to donate as possible. Collectively, we filled nearly 40 bags with toys, clothes, books, shoes, and other pre-loved items.”
Nicola Sciarrillo is a fundraiser and events officer for Hope House. She said: “Each bag is typically worth between £12 and £15, which means the DRB employees will have contributed around £500 to our hospice running costs. We can’t thank them enough.”
DRB is an active fundraiser for Hope House because the work they do is so very vital to local families. Over the past 3 years, we’ve raised more than £11,000 for the charity.
