At DRB we are used to visiting a range of sites and working with a wide variety of clients, solving their problems and keeping them up and running.
Our work is often varied and we’re used to needing to act fast but every now and again we receive a request which doesn’t just require our urgent attention but is also somewhat out of the ordinary, even by our standards!
One recent example was getting a call from Chester Zoo asking for our help. It was mid-afternoon when we received the call from the Zoo regarding a problem with a faulty motor in Fruit Bat Forest. The Fruit Bat Forest is the largest free-flying bat cave in Europe and the motor was needed for heating this space. The world-renowned facility is popular attraction at the zoo and is home to two species of bat, the natural habitat for both of which would be tropical, so ensuring the heating was working effectively without delay was key.
We quickly provided a new electric motor and swapped over the pulley ensuring they were able to get the heating back on the same afternoon.
Here’s what our contact at the zoo had to say, “It was mid-afternoon when we contacted you. By 14:30 you had a new motor for us and you swapped over the pulley which enabled us to get the heating back on the same day. You provided an excellent service from start to finish. Thank you.”
We are always available to help when an unexpected problem or breakdown occurs and our staff are used to working quickly. We offer 24/7 call out for emergencies or breakdowns across all of our departments so there is always a skilled professional here for you should a problem arise.
