DRB Group welcomed distinguished guests for a factory tour last month, following their double award-win at the 2018 Flintshire in Business Awards.
Rt Hon Lord Barry Jones, President of Flintshire In Business; Andy Farrow, Chief Officer, Planning, Environment and Economy; Cllr Paul Cunningham, Chair Flintshire County Council; and Cllr Derek Butler, Cabinet Member for Economic Development enjoyed hearing about the different manufacturing customers DRB serves.
The Flintshire In Business Awards recognise progressive, growing companies in the region.
Matt Bennett, CEO, hosted the tour. He said, “Being recognised as Flintshire’s Most Socially Responsible Business means a lot to the DRB team. We invest heavily in our apprentices, offer flexible working, and pay the Real Living Wage because, above all else, family comes first.”
Connor McAulay won Apprentice of the Year; an award that recognises an apprentice’s outstanding progress and commitment to their personal development. He said, “DRB has helped me to become a successful apprentice. I’ve had great feedback from our customers who ask for me to return to their site.”
Rt Hon Lord Jones P.C. followed the visit with a letter, saying: “Please give my thanks to our host CEO Matt for his time and splendid briefing and tour… We all admired DRB as a successful business entity, not least yours truly.”
